Video Launch: Senior Care in Minnesota is More Than Just Nursing Homes

That’s the message delivered by real Minnesota seniors, families and caregivers in the second installment of our Faces and Places of Care grassroots video campaign to urge candidate and lawmakers to make senior care a top priority this campaign season.

It’s easy for lawmakers to focus on budget spreadsheets and complex policy language when they’re up at the Capitol, forgetting the human stories behind their work. That’s why Aging Services and the Long-Term Care Imperative created the Faces and Places of Care campaign – six 2-minute videos featuring real Minnesotans talking about why it is so important to invest in a strong senior car system.

Today we launched the second in this six-part series:

Part 1: Getting Ready Before a Crisis
Part 2: Senior Care is More Than Nursing Homes

Our goal is to share these videos with as many people as possible, creating an environment where candidates, lawmakers and media feel the pressure to make this a top issue of discussion this campaign season and a priority during the 2013 legislative session.

Will you help us spread these videos?
We’ve made it easy to share the Faces and Places of Care videos in a variety of ways:

  1. The easiest way to share the videos is to use the “share” buttons at the bottom of each video on the website. With the click of a button you can email the videos to your personal and professional networks, post to Facebook, Twitter and more.
  2. Email the videos directly to your local candidates and media. To find contact information and a ready-to-send email for your candidates, simply visit the Aging Services Action Center.
  3. Consider posting a link to on the home page of your website, or your Intranet so staff can see and share the videos.
  4. If you host local candidates for a forum or visit to your building, take a few minutes to share the videos as a part of their tour.

Thank you for helping to spread the Faces and Places of Care campaign – we look forward to releasing the next four videos between now and Election Day!
