2024 Institute & Expo – Invest in Your Staff with Institute Education

January 4, 2024

Investing in their professional development is the most impactful way to retain your current staff.

It’s not too late to add staff to your organization’s registration or register them for one of four intensive sessions covering survey preparation, teamwork and communication, food code, and LEAN Six Sigma Process Improvement for Leaders.

Your organization/service site pays a flat registration fee that includes attendance for all staff at that site for all five days of education (in-person Feb. 7-8 and virtual Feb. 27-29). Mix and match – anybody can attend a single session, attend every day, or anything in between. Plus, the virtual sessions and keynote presentations are recorded and available on-demand through April 30.

The 2024 Institute & Expo is Feb. 7-8 in-person with a virtual component Feb. 27-29.

Regular registration fees currently apply. Add $100 if registering your organization/service site on or after Jan. 31, 2024.

Add deep-dive knowledge with a pre-conference intensive

Pre-conference intensives on Tuesday, Feb. 6. may be attended separately from Institute registration or in conjunction with attending the in-person or virtual Institute. A separate registration and fee is required.

Survey Preparation: Managing Surveys, Understanding Deficiencies, and Creating Plans of Correction (Session A): Manage your survey process, analyze deficiencies, and create effective plans of correction with the resources and hands-on application gained in this workshop for care center and assisted living nurses and administrators.

Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Communication (Session B): Leveraging the successful Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS®) curriculum that can be applied to any type of team, you will develop an action plan for bringing key communication and team engagement strategy processes back to your organization.

Food Code: Meeting Requirements for Quality Resident Care (Session C): Gain the information and resources that care center and assisted living administrators and culinary staff need to meet key food code requirements, provide quality resident care, and avoid citations. Application to MN CFPM for four hours of continuing education is in process. It is sponsored by Bronze Annual Sponsor Passion for Dining and Nutrition.

Leadership Intensive: A LEAN Six Sigma Process Improvement LEGO Game (Session D): To thrive in the long-term care field with staffing and economic challenges, organizations are focusing on improving productivity and increasing efficiency. Expert trainers and facilitators Edwin Boon and Joe Hesser will guide participants through an interactive LEGO simulation. Participant teams will process problems and apply LEAN Six Sigma practices to overcome them.
