2024 Institute & Expo – Prepare for Your Next Survey

Prepare for your next survey at the 2024 Institute & Expo. In addition to the survey-focused sessions below, many of the 24 state agency education sessions include survey findings, areas for improvement, and preparation resources.

New this year, representatives from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety will be at the “Meet Your Regulator” counter on Wednesday, Feb. 7, during the Institute. Stop by between 8 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. on the Ballroom Concourse to connect face-to-face and ask questions.

Tues., Feb. 6

• Preconference Intensive A – Survey Preparation: Managing Surveys, Understanding Deficiencies, and Creating Plans of Correction (Assisted Living and Care Centers)
• Preconference Intensive C – Food Code: Meeting Requirements for Quality Resident Care
• Note: Pre-Conference Intensive Sessions require separate registration and fees.

Wed., Feb. 7

• 104 – A New Assisted Living Environment: AL Conversion Facility Surveys (AL)
• 203 – A New Assisted Living Environment: Life Safety Code Survey for ALF's and ALFDC's (AL)
• 409 – Care Center Regulatory Updates (CC)

Thur., Feb. 9

• 705 – A Provider’s Guide to Using State and Federal Appeals (CC)
• 706 – Strategies in Making it Through an Immediate Jeopardy (CC)
• 806 – BELTSS License Updates for HSE, NHA, and LALD (AL, CC)

Still Time to Register or Add Staff: Registration fees for the 2024 Institute & Expo will increase by $100 on Jan. 31, 2024. Last day to register online is Feb. 1, 2024. The 2024 Institute & Expo is Feb. 7-8 in-person at the RiverCentre in St. Paul and Feb. 27-29 for live virtual education sessions.

Organization already registered? There is no additional cost to add more staff to your organization’s or your service site’s registration. One flat registration fee covers all the staff at your organization/service site to attend either the in-person dates, virtual, or both. Virtual sessions and two keynote presentations will be recorded and available on-demand through April 30, 2024.

Hotel Accommodations: Our room blocks are filling. The Courtyard by Marriott and the Residence Inn are still accepting reservations at the group rate.
