Advocacy in Action: Visit the Capitol on an Upcoming Advocacy Day
LeadingAge Minnesota is organizing several small advocacy days at the Capitol to keep the pressure on lawmakers to ensure they remember seniors and their caregivers during the 2023 legislative session. Please consider joining us for one of our “mini” Days at the Capitol.
Who should attend?
If you couldn’t attend our Day at the Capitol earlier in March or meet with your legislator that day due to Sovereignty Day, this is an excellent opportunity to make your voice heard at the Capitol and speak with the legislators that represent you. Please choose one of the following dates that work best for you and your team:
- Thursday, March 30, 2023 – thanks to the members attending the Capitol today.
- Wednesday, April 12, 2023
- Wednesday, May 10, 2023
What to expect
LeadingAge Minnesota’s mini advocacy days will allow attendees the flexibility to attend on the day that works best for them and their team. You can expect to meet with legislators in the Capitol, outside committee rooms, or in their offices. While our mini advocacy days won’t include a full day with any programming, attendees can still watch an advocacy training video and key messages document before attending.
How to register
If you’d like to attend one of the mini advocacy days, please send the following information for attendees from your organization to Kayla Khang at kkhang@leadingagemn.org:
- Which day you’d like to attend
- First and last names
- Titles and organization/location they work at
- Email address
- Work address
- Home address (if they’re also interested in meeting with the legislator whose district they live in)
We hope to see you and your team at one of our “mini” Days at the Capitol, and please reach out to Kayla with any questions.
