Recognize Your Team During “Celebrate Caring Careers Month”
November is Celebrate Caring Careers Month, a statewide effort led by CareerForce and officially declared by Governor Tim Walz as a time to recognize the compassionate people who help older Minnesotans live with purpose and dignity. For aging service employers, it’s a chance to thank your team and to show the people in your community why this work is critical as we age.
Five Ways to Celebrate
- Say thank you, in person and in public. Recognition doesn’t need a big budget. Breakroom treats, handwritten notes, or a moment at a staff meeting all make an impact. Download free thank-you cards, social graphics, or share how they create a meaning impact using the story collection form at CaringCareersStartHere.com/caring-careers-month. If your team agrees, you can share photos using #CelebrateCaringCareersMonth.
- Update your profile on CaringCareersStartHere.com. Every eligible Minnesota provider already has a profile on the free statewide platform. Claim yours, mark it public, and add real photos, benefits, and training support. Job seekers search the Employer Match map by zip code and message employers directly, whether or not you have an opening posted.
- Open your doors. Invite lawmakers for a site visit, give tours to community leaders and families, or host an open house or job fair. Hiring events can be added to the CareerForce calendar at CareerForce.MN.gov/events.
- Connect with local learners. High schools, colleges, and Adult Basic Education programs are looking for employers willing to host a tour, a job shadow, or a classroom visit. Point students to CaringCareersStartHere.com to explore 49 roles across six career pathways.
- Share your team’s stories. A caregiver, cook, housekeeper, or nurse who makes your community special is worth telling others about. Send stories to info@mncarecareers.com.
The people on your team chose this work, and they contribute indispensable care for older adults across Minnesota. This month is a chance to make sure they know it matters, and to help the next person find their way to a life-changing career.
