Delivering the Message to Gov. Walz on our Day at the Capitol
Day at the Capitol 2023 is just a few weeks away on March 13. Whether attending or not, you can make your voice heard at the capitol by participating in our letter-writing campaign.
You, your staff, and your residents can write letters to be dropped off at the governor’s office on our advocacy day. We have made participation easy by creating templates with pre-written messages that staff and residents can quickly fill in and personalize.
Why it matters
Gov. Walz has not made aging services a priority in his budget, and we need him to change his approach to funding our sector this year. We can collectively make our voices heard by sending dozens – or maybe even hundreds – of letters supporting legislation to increase funding for aging services.
How to participate
If you are attending Day at the Capitol, print and bring your letters. Give them to LeadingAge Minnesota staff, and we will drop them off at the governor’s office.
If you are not attending Day at the Capitol, send us your letters, and we will bring them for you.
- You can scan and email them or have your staff complete them electronically and send them to us (just be sure they sign their letters). Send completed letters to Dan Nelson at dnelson@leadingagemn.org.
- If you’d like to print and mail them, you can do that too! Send your letters to LeadingAge Minnesota, ATTN: Dan Nelson, 2550 University Ave. W, Suite 350S, St. Paul, MN 55114.
Please send us your letters by March 7 to ensure we can include them in our visit to the capitol on March 13.
