DHS announces Customized living services claims denying
Yesterday, the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) announced that they will deny claims for customized living services for dates of service on or after Aug. 1 until they have updated provider records with the new assisted living facility license requirement. They are currently updating records and anticipate completing updates by the end of the day on Aug. 12.
For new assisted living licensees, a reminder that if all the practice locations that you will be providing customized living services from were enrolled with Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) before Aug. 1, you only need to submit a copy of your assisted living facility license by submitting it through the Minnesota Provider Screening and Enrollment (MPSE) portal or faxing a copy to 651-431-7493. Some locations require new enrollments.
If they deny your claim for customized living services on or after Aug. 13, email DHS at dhs_mhcp_provider_enrollment@state.mn.us, or call the MHCP Provider Call Center at 651-431-2700 or 800-366-5411 to discuss your enrollment record.
Continue to refer to the license requirement changes for customized living services providers' webpage for the most up-to-date information.
As a reminder, you may submit claims to MHCP no later than 12 months from the date of service. You can find information about timely billing requirements in the MHCP Provider Basic's Billing Policy Overview webpage.
