DHS Surveys HCBS Providers on Electronic Visit Verification

May 22, 2018
By Bobbie Guidry

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is surveying providers of personal care assistance, home health services, and home and community-based services to learn more about existing use of electronic visit verification (EVV) in Minnesota.

The 21st Century Cures Act requires states to electronically verify personal care services, including home and community-based services that provide support for activities of daily living or instrumental activities of daily living by Jan. 1, 2019. By Jan. 1, 2023, states must electronically verify home health services.

Why Provide Your Input

DHS will use your input to develop a Request for Proposals to implement electronic visit verification. Your responses are very important in helping DHS better understand the types of service verification systems currently in use in Minnesota.

How to Provide Your Input

Use your ten-digit provider identification number – your National Provider Identifier (NPI) or Unique Minnesota Provider Identifier (UMPI) – to access the Electronic Visit Verification Inventory Survey.  The survey will take about ten minutes to complete.
