DHS To Provide Updates on Major Change Initiatives
The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is offering a series of webinars replacing their annual Odyssey Conference.
The next 2023 Odyssey webinar series session is “Major Change Initiatives,” to take place on Aug. 22 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Go to the Major Change Initiatives registration page to sign up for this free webinar before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, for the Aug. 22 event.
During this session, DHS staff will describe four major initiatives to better serve and support older adults and people with disabilities:
- Community First Services and Supports
- Electronic Visit Verification
- MnCHOICES revision
- Waiver Reimagine
These initiatives will give people more choice and control over the services and supports in their lives.
Medicare Certified Home Health Agencies will be subject to Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) starting in October, so that topic may be of particular interest to those providers. Home Health Agencies (Medicare Certified) must use electronic visit verification to document that people receive services billed to the state.
The Minnesota EVV system will verify the following:
- Type of service performed
- Who received the service
- Date of service
- Location of service delivery
- Who provided the service
- When the service begins and ends.
Information sessions specific to EVV are also scheduled for the month of August.
