What to expect

LeadingAge Minnesota’s Advocacy Team will provide all registrants with an “advocacy refresher” before the event. Attendees will hear a legislative update, learn about effective messaging strategies, review talking points, and receive tips on how to make the most of visits with legislators and your day at the Capitol.

Leading Age Minnesota’s advocacy day will start at Christ on Capitol Hill’s Fellowship Hall. Christ on Capitol Hill is just across the intersection from the capitol complex. Coffee, tea, and pastries will be available to members, along with a short program/introduction to the day.

Then, we’ll head to the Capitol Rotunda for a 45-minute rally. This will be our chance to make our voices heard by our lawmakers!

After the rally, a boxed lunch will be served at Christ on Capitol Hill. From there, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with legislators, attend a hearing, or tour the Capitol.

To end the day, the Champions Network, a group of our most active advocates, invites you to attend a reception at the Radisson Capitol Ridge hotel. We hope to see you there!
