Register Today for LeadingAge Minnesota’s 2027 Day at the Capitol!
LeadingAge Minnesota’s 2027 Day at the Capitol is moving to Tuesday, February 9, the day before our annual Institute & Expo! This change offers members a convenient opportunity to kick off a busy week of learning, networking, and advocacy by making their voices heard at the Minnesota State Capitol.
Day at the Capitol brings aging services professionals, leaders, staff, and advocates together to connect directly with state lawmakers and share the challenges and opportunities facing older adults and the organizations that serve them.
Whether you’re a seasoned advocate or attending for the first time, your voice matters. These conversations help legislators better understand the realities of providing care and services across Minnesota and the importance of supporting our aging services workforce, residents, and communities.
Register ASAP to Secure Legislative Meetings!
- Date: Tuesday, February 9, 2027
- Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

We strongly encourage members to register as soon as possible! Our team will be coordinating meetings with legislators, and early registration increases the likelihood of securing meetings with your elected officials.
With Day at the Capitol taking place immediately before Institute, we hope members from across the state will take advantage of this opportunity to participate in both events.

Help Us Showcase Resident Creativity at the State Capitol!
We’re also excited to bring back the LeadingAge Minnesota Resident Art Exhibit, which will be on display at the Minnesota State Capitol from February 8–10, 2027!
This annual exhibit celebrates the creativity, talent, and individuality of older adults living in LeadingAge Minnesota member communities. It is also an opportunity to show lawmakers the people and stories behind the policies they help shape.
We need your artwork submissions as soon as possible! We invite member communities to submit photographs of artwork created by their residents, along with information about the artist and their community.
For each submission, we encourage you to include:
- A high-quality photograph of the resident with their artwork, whenever possible.
- The resident’s name and community information.
- A short quote from the resident about their artwork, what inspired it, or what creating art means to them.
Photos should be taken in good lighting, preferably with a newer smartphone, and can be uploaded directly through our submission survey.
There is no limit to the number of artists each community can submit! We encourage you to highlight as many talented residents as you’d like.
SUBMIT YOUR RESIDENT ARTWORK HERE!
With the exhibit taking place during Day at the Capitol and Institute, this is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your residents’ creativity while sharing their stories with legislators and visitors to the Capitol.
Don’t wait! Register for Day at the Capitol and submit your resident artwork today. We look forward to seeing our members at the Capitol and showcasing the incredible talent found throughout Minnesota’s aging services communities!
