Reminder! Registration for 2023 Day at the Capitol Closes March 1
We are less than a month away from our first in-person LeadingAge Minnesota Day at the Capitol in four years. This year’s advocacy day, on which members come together at the Minnesota State Capitol to appeal to their lawmakers, will occur on Monday, March 13. Members, caregivers, trustees, and seniors are all invited to attend.
What to expect
Registrants will also receive advocacy training leading up to the event to fully prepare you to make the most of our collective voices.
The Day at the Capitol will start at Christ on Capitol Hill’s Fellowship Hall. Christ on Capitol Hill is across the intersection from the capitol complex. You will hear from LeadingAge Minnesota’s advocacy team with an “advocacy refresher,” including talking points and preparation for our members’ meeting with legislators.
Then, we’ll head to the Capitol for a rally and inspiring words from lawmakers and members.
From there, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with your lawmakers.
LeadingAge Minnesota will provide coffee, tea, and pastries in the morning and lunch between activities. The Champions Network, a group of our most active advocates, invites you to attend a reception at the end of the day at the Radisson Capitol Ridge hotel. We hope to see you there!
Registration information
Register by Wednesday, March 1, so we can make meetings with your lawmakers. If you want to sign up individuals who are not members, including older adults and caregivers, they are welcome! Please contact Kayla Khang, LeadingAge Minnesota’s Government Affairs and Policy Manager, so that we can plan accordingly.
