Seeking Leaders: Consider Serving on a LeadingAge Minnesota District
We are actively seeking individuals to serve as District Chair, Chair-Elect, and Secretary/Treasurer for the seven districts of LeadingAge Minnesota.
Most district officer positions across the state will be up for election at the upcoming District Meetings in October. The following is a description of what each role entails:
- CHAIR: The chair attends all meetings and appoints any committees deemed necessary. In conjunction with LeadingAge Minnesota staff, the chair creates the agenda for each meeting and convenes the meetings at their appointed district.
- CHAIR-ELECT: The chair-elect shall, in the absence of the chair, perform their duties. The chair-elect is also responsible for coordinating any special programs for meetings and serves as a liaison with staff on district advocacy activities.
- SECRETARY/TREASURER: The secretary/treasurer is the liaison to LeadingAge Minnesota and approves all bills for the district. The secretary/treasurer also obtains a financial report from LeadingAge Minnesota to present at district meetings. If the chair and chair-elect cannot attend the district meeting, the secretary/treasurer would lead the meeting.
Elections for the positions will take place at October District Meetings. Those elected will take office in October and complete a two-year term that runs until 2024.
Getting involved in district leadership is a high-impact, low-commitment role that helps guide the direction of your district and the Association as a whole.
