COVID-19 Resource Round-Up: Three New Resources
Compilations of lessons learned from the early months of the pandemic were launched recently from LeadingAge and from CMS.
- The Pandemic Playbook, developed by LeadingAge, is a multi-media collection of videos, audio interviews, tools, and provider-generated content. Topics include crisis intervention & management, clinical impact & infection control, financial impact & strategies, transparent communications: internal & external, technology applications & telehealth, and workforce management & support. The Appendix includes more than 200 templates, tools, and playbooks. Particularly helpful in addressing the increased stress staff are feeling during the COVID -19 surge, are 11 short audio interviews with LeadingAge members across the country on how they are approaching wellness.
- The CMS Toolkit on State Actions to Mitigate COVID-19 Prevalence in Nursing Homes (13th edition) is a compendium of state-specific actions in the areas of workforce, infection control, testing, PPE and more. This version includes a new chapter on vaccinations (starting on page 179) that provides bullet-point summaries of the most recent information published by CMS, CDC, HHS, and DOD. It covers vaccinations for influenza, pneumococcus, and COVID-19.
- Members of LeadingAge National can access the first in a series of COVID-19 Nursing Home Toolkits and Resources developed in partnership with Pathway Health. The first toolkit focuses on testing and covers testing policies, a learning and leader’s guide, competencies, pre- and post-testing, outbreak investigations, swabbing collection, billing and more.
