Minneapolis Veterans Home Administrator to Retire
The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) has announced that Minnesota Veterans Homes – Minneapolis Campus Administrator Doug Britain will be retiring in January 2027.
Britain has served as the Minneapolis Veterans Home leader since December 2023 when he began as the Campus Administrator. He has had a distinguished career in the healthcare and long-term care industries for nearly 50 years, serving in Minnesota, across the country and even in China.
MDVA leadership thanks Britain for his contributions during his time with the agency. While leading the team, the Home’s accomplishments have included increasing/maximizing Resident census, eliminating nursing pool staffing, improving staff retention, achieving Resident/family satisfaction of nearly 100%, and ongoing recognition as one of the best nursing homes in America. Britain shares that serving in this role “has been both professionally rewarding and personally meaningful.”
MDVA has begun to recruit for this critical role and is confident that a strong candidate will be identified who can continue the Minnesota Veterans Homes – Minneapolis tradition of providing the highest quality Resident care. More information is available on the State of Minnesota Careers website here. Britain will be with MDVA until January 12.
