New American Resource Map

Access the Map

WHAT’S ON THE MAP?

This interactive map features local organizations that support New American individuals and their families across Minnesota. This map is also a tool for long-term care employers to deepen relationships with local support networks, grow workforce pipelines, and ensure current staff have access to the community, cultural, and legal resources they need to thrive.

Find local support for:

  • English-language learning programs
  • Immigration law firms and legal referral services
  • Resettlement services and support
  • Community-based organizations focused on cultural and immigrant communities
  • Family and childcare resources
  • Cultural integration and inclusion programs
  • Workforce centers and job support
  • Basic needs and transportation

WHO THIS MAP IS FOR:

For New Americans:

This map is designed first and foremost as a resource for New Americans—individuals and families seeking resources for preserving strong, supported lives in Minnesota. Whether you are new to the country or building your next chapter, this tool helps you:

  • Find trusted support for legal needs, resettlement, English language learning, family services, and more.
  • Access career services like job readiness programs, certification trainings, and employment navigation.
  • Connect with local community and build a sense of belonging by finding people and programs that understand your journey.

For Long-Term Care Employers:

Long-term care has long benefited from the strengths and contributions of immigrant communities. This map helps aging services employers:

  • Support current staff by providing culturally relevant referrals and connecting them with community-based services.
  • Strengthen recruitment partnerships and connect with local talent pipelines by sharing career opportunities in aging services.
  • Build deeper cultural understanding and authentic relationships with local leaders by aligning on shared values.
  • Advance your mission and inclusive workforce strategies, while strengthening the wellbeing of your broader community.

WHY IT MATTERS:

This map is more than a directory—it’s a bridge. It strengthens two-way connections between long-term care providers and New American communities, ensuring that everyone—from caregivers to residents to communities—can thrive.

Nearly 1 in 3 healthcare workers in Minnesota are an immigrant, and New Americans play a vital and growing role in long-term care. For decades, long-term care providers have benefited first-hand from the power of these contributions—the dedication, resilience, and cultural richness that New Americans bring to our communities. Our field has a legacy of welcoming and supporting New Americans, rooted in shared values of hard work, service, and multigenerational care.

This resource is made possible through the New Americans Long-Term Care Workforce grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
