Welcome New Associate Member: Alight
Posted on October 30, 2025 by Jessica Lacher
We’re pleased to welcome Alight (formerly American Refugee Committee) as a new member of LeadingAge Minnesota! For more than 50 years, Alight has worked alongside immigrants and refugees to help them build safety, stability, and belonging.
Free Support for New Hires Navigating Online Onboarding
In collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Alight is offering a new Onboarding Support Liaison (OSL) service to Long-Term Care providers of all kinds.
The OSL helps new hires who are learning English, or those unfamiliar with digital systems, to successfully complete the mandatory online onboarding modules required before beginning in-person or on-site training. Alight can serve providers operating in the Twin Cities metro in-person and those in greater Minnesota through virtual offerings (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
What the OSL offers:
- One-on-one help with logging into systems, navigating training modules, and understanding content in clear, accessible English.
- Support for all departments—caregiving, culinary, housekeeping, activities, and more.
- A simple process: employers refer the new hire, and Alight’s team handles the rest.
Benefits for employers:
- Saves HR and supervisor time
- Reduces Day-1 drop-offs
- Improves readiness and retention
Participation is completely free. To learn more or refer a new hire, email onboarding@wearealight.org.
At a future LeadingAge Minnesota Huddle, team members from Alight will join Kirstan Ketter, project manager for the New Americans Grant at LeadingAge Minnesota, to co-present and share more about this important initiative and collaboration.
