2022 Leadership Academy Applications Due March 15

“One of the best investments we have made is sending people through Leadership Academy.” This was spoken by the CEO of a member organization at the recent Institute & Expo. “They are our succession plans – we need this now more than ever!”

Moving forward from another year of pandemic-related disruption will require strong and innovative leadership. The 2022 Leadership Academy begins May 4 and is open for applications. Since 2010, this unique program has developed the leadership capacity and core competencies of more than 350 aging services professionals.

Leadership Academy provides a leadership foundation rooted in reflective practice – developing a deep understanding of one's natural leadership talents and learning how to stretch and leverage those capacities to have the most impact as leaders. Fellows engage in group discussions, exercises, readings and journaling throughout the year. Those activities allow them to delve into the various ways (and contexts) to apply the leadership theories to real-world settings within and outside of the aging services field. The course includes member site visits, leaders-in-residence events, small group work, and a personalized action learning project that puts the theories into practice.
