2026 ICan Quality Improvement Contest Is Here!
Posted on January 29, 2026 by Julie Apold
Is quality improvement or staff retention on your 2026 to-do list? Then don’t miss the kickoff of the 2026 ICan Quality Improvement Contest!
Register to join us for the ICan Information Session on March 10 from 1:00–1:30 p.m. to learn how your team can get involved.
ICan projects put front-line staff in the driver’s seat, leading improvement efforts that unfold over several months. Research shows that involving staff in meaningful ways improves staff engagement and retention, and ICan projects are designed to do exactly that.
Quality Improvement
Now in its fourth year, the ICan Quality Improvement Contest is part of LeadingAge Minnesota’s quality program, giving teams practical tools and strategies to identify opportunities, solve problems, and make a real impact.
Past ICan projects have included:
- Creating more welcoming spaces for residents and families to gather and connect
- Ensuring wound care supplies are organized, stocked, and ready when needed
- Strengthening teamwork through “Walking Rounds”
- Reducing missing resident items with improved labeling and tracking processes
About the 2026 ICan Contest
Your ICan team will develop a project plan, put it into action, and showcase your results as part of the 2026 contest. Completed projects will be highlighted during a Virtual ICan Gathering, where prizes will be awarded and teams celebrated!
