Assisted Living License Renewal Delays

We have received several calls from members recently regarding their Assisted Living license renewal process being very slow, or licenses expiring before the renewal is received.

Some issues have related to MDH receiving all required information. Renewal applicants may find the Renewal Checklist helpful when preparing documents to submit with their renewal applications.

MDH is working with their Credentialing group to identify process improvements to correct the slow processing that some have experienced. If you are having issues that may affect your customized living payments, please reach out to LeadingAge MN staff for assistance, as MDH can contact DHS to notify them that the license is in good standing while the processing is completed.
