Belleston Residence Breaks Ground in Plymouth Offering New Senior Living Community

A new kind of senior living community has broken ground in Plymouth. Belleston Residence, an assisted and independent living community designed to provide high-acuity care in a residential setting will be located at 18035 Old Rockford Road.

This 19,806 square foot community will feature 28 units and 32 beds, designed for older adults who require higher levels of daily support and clinical oversight. With staff-to-resident ratios far exceeding state standards, Belleston Residence will provide care for residents who need advanced medical interventions, such as PEG tube and catheter care, services rarely available in traditional residential settings.

Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Darla Thao, R.N., and Toua Xiong, M.D., Belleston Residence reflects their shared mission to bring clinical expertise and personalized, family-centered care into senior housing. The pair, who also own Solbakken Senior Living communities in Plymouth and Maple Grove, bring more than 30 years of combined healthcare and operational experience to the project. Belleston marks their third senior living community, reinforcing their deep commitment to advancing senior care across the Twin Cities.

The new senior living community is expected to open in July 2026.

Bauer Design Build is the general contractor, Momentum Design Group is the architect and interior designer, Loucks is the civil engineer and VAA is the structural engineer.
