Care Center Surveys Highlighted in District Meetings
Posted on January 10, 2018 by Jonathan Lips
Our team is traveling for District Meetings this week, which include a break-out session for care centers focusing on recent survey results. I encourage members to join us for the District F and District G meetings on Thursday and Friday, to share your own survey experiences or learnings you have gathered from colleagues.
We will prepare a longer article and summary for next week, but I will share a pharmacy issue as a survey tip for this week.
The Minnesota Department of Health has cited several facilities at F761 for relating to medication storage.
The findings have been simple and consistent in each case, noting a failure to remove expired medications from medication or treatment carts for the specific residents whom the surveyors reviewed for medication storage. Consider evaluating your own processes for ensuring expired medications are removed (and replaced, if applicable) in a timely way.
Hope to see you all at the District Meetings this week, and at Districts A, B and C the week of January 22!
