COVID-19: Response and Readiness Resources

LeadingAge Minnesota has been working closely with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and others to help inform our work on response and readiness resources on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) for aging services providers. While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is estimating that US risks for the virus are low, those we serve in senior living appear to be disproportionately at risk for the most serious respiratory infections associated with COVID-19. We encourage members to take advantage of these new opportunities and resources:

Patient Care Strategies for Scarce Resource Situations: The epidemiology and emergency preparedness teams from MDH recently presented information on patient care strategies for scarce resource situations and conservation of PPE stock. MDH is encouraging health care providers to contact their regional health care coalition if experiencing supply chain challenges related to COVID-19.

Access the Most Up-to-Date Information: The most up-to-date information about COVID-19 is available on the MDH COVID-19 website and the CDC COVID-19 website. The CDC’s Resources for Healthcare Facilities page includes specific strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in long-term care settings.

LeadingAge MN COVID-19 Task Force: We have established an inter-disciplinary COVID-19 task force and are actively developing communications tools and other resources for members, which will be available on our dedicated COVID-19 webpage.
