Dec. 9-10 Maltreatment Management Workshop: Prepare for the Report, Investigation, and Response
Posted on October 1, 2026 by Sharon Hollister
The Maltreatment Management Workshop, Dec. 9–10 in St. Paul, gives clinical and organizational leaders an opportunity to strengthen the practices they rely on when a potential maltreatment situation occurs.
This highly interactive workshop goes beyond reviewing regulations. Participants will work through a maltreatment case from the initial report through investigation, interdisciplinary review and development of the care plan or individualized abuse prevention plan. Along the way, they’ll practice determining whether a situation is reportable, writing an initial report, conducting interviews, and completing final investigation documentation.
The workshop also addresses investigation and reporting timelines, resident safety, what surveyors look for, common citations, notifications, maltreatment policies, and crisis communications.
Designed for directors of nursing, nurse managers, direct-care nurses, administrators, social workers, and leadership team members, the workshop is eligible for 9 clock hours and is designed to meet CEU approval criteria for MN-BELTSS and the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
