Give New MDS Professionals the Foundation to Succeed
Posted on October 8, 2026 by Sharon Hollister
Foundations for New MDS Professionals, November 12–13, is an in-person, two-day intensive designed to help newer MDS coordinators and clinical team members build the knowledge and confidence they need to do this complex work well.
Why is this so important? MDS accuracy connects directly to resident care planning, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes and reimbursement. Giving someone responsibility for MDS also means giving them the tools to understand how all those pieces fit together.
Led by Marilyn Ramirez (MSN, RN, RAC-CTA, WCC), Executive Vice President of MDS Solutions, participants will build foundational competency across MDS sections; learn Care Area Assessment and care planning requirements; work through OBRA and PPS scheduling rules; explore Medicare coverage and skilled level-of-care requirements; and gain an introductory understanding of PDPM and its reimbursement drivers.
If someone on your team is new to MDS—or would benefit from a stronger grounding in the fundamentals—this is an opportunity to invest in their success and strengthen MDS practice across your organization.
