LeadingAge Minnesota Member Chris Knoll Earns GOP Endorsement for Senate District 21

Posted on April 2, 2026 by Ben Hansen

Chris Knoll, a LeadingAge Minnesota member and CEO of Minnewaska Community Health Services, has secured the Republican endorsement for Minnesota Senate District 21. The endorsement was announced following the district convention, where party delegates selected Knoll as their preferred candidate to succeed retiring Senator Bill Weber.

Knoll’s leadership in senior care and rural health has been central to his campaign message. As the head of a nonprofit senior care organization, he brings firsthand experience in addressing the challenges facing older adults and senior care providers in Greater Minnesota. His involvement with LeadingAge Minnesota, including work on public policy and advocacy, further underscores his commitment to strengthening aging services and rural healthcare systems.

In accepting the endorsement, Knoll emphasized unity and forward momentum, stating he is ready to bring his message to voters across southern Minnesota.

“I am deeply honored and grateful to receive the endorsement,” said Knoll. “Thank you to the delegates, volunteers, supporters, and BPOU chairs across the district for their hard work and trust. I also want to thank the other candidates for stepping forward to serve. I am also grateful to retiring Senator Bill Weber for his many years of dedicated service to District 21.”

With the endorsement secured, Knoll now advances to the general election as the Republican-backed candidate, positioning his leadership in senior care as a key asset in the race.

Note: LeadingAge Minnesota does not endorse candidates for office; Mr. Knoll (and his challenger) will have an opportunity to seek endorsement from the LeadingAge Minnesota PAC if they wish.
