LeadingAge Minnesota Welcomes Thanh Nguyen, Workforce Programs Coordinator

LeadingAge Minnesota is excited to welcome Thanh Nguyen as our new Workforce Programs Coordinator, a newly created role that reflects our continued investment in one of the most significant challenges facing our members: workforce. 

Year after year, members tell us that recruiting, developing and retaining a strong workforce remains among their greatest challenges. In response, LeadingAge Minnesota continues to invest in programs, partnerships and resources that strengthen the pipeline of people entering careers in aging services and support the employers who rely on them. 

In this new role, Thanh will help expand the capacity behind that work. He will support LeadingAge Minnesota’s growing portfolio of workforce programs and initiatives, including OnTrack Nursing Assistant and Trained Medication Aide training, Caring Careers Start Here, our job board – AgingServicesJobs.org, and grant-funded initiatives focused on strengthening connections between New Americans and aging services employers. 

Thanh recently graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature. Throughout college, he developed experience in public policy, advocacy, communications, research, and community engagement.  

Before joining LeadingAge Minnesota, Thanh worked with AARP Minnesota, where he supported communications and advocacy efforts focused on issues affecting older Minnesotans. His work included legislative communications, advocacy campaigns, data analysis, and helping volunteers effectively engage with policymakers.  

Thanh also participated in Capitol Pathways, working with Citizens League and Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota on housing policy and legislative advocacy. He previously supported communications and served on the Undergraduate Working Group for the University of Minnesota’s Human Rights Program, where he helped share the work of community partners and promote programs and events.  

His background in policy, communications and community engagement will bring a valuable perspective to LeadingAge Minnesota as we continue to grow our workforce programs and find new ways to support members in meeting their workforce needs.
