New Requirement for ADS and other 245A Licensees Effective January 1

Beginning on Jan. 1, 2024, providers regulated by Chapter 245A will need to record the date of first “direct contact” by employees with licensed program recipients and make that record available to the commissioner when requested.
The new requirement was added to 245.041, Subd. 6.
"Direct contact" means providing face-to-face care, training, supervision, counseling, consultation, or medication assistance to persons served by the program.
Current 245A licensure holders should review employee recordkeeping processes to ensure that first contact information is collected and maintained.
