OSHA Posting Period Begins February 1

Posted on January 20, 2021 by Jonathan Lips

This is a reminder that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers subject to its recordkeeping requirements to post OSHA Form 300A between February 1 and April 30 of each year.

Form 300A is a summary of work-related injuries and illnesses recorded on the OHSA 300 log for the previous calendar year. An employer must post a copy of the annual summary in a conspicuous place or places where notices to employees are customarily posted, and must ensure that the posted annual summary is not altered, defaced or covered by other material.

In addition to the posting requirement, Minnesota employers with 20 or more employees will need to submit information from their OSHA 300A form electronically to OSHA by March 2.  See the Injury Tracking Application webpage for more information.

The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry is offering a free training on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, from 8:30–11:00, about the basics of OSHA recordkeeping, including how to maintain an accurate OSHA log of recordable work-related injuries and illnesses.  Click here to register.
