Posted on November 28, 2018 by Jodi Boyne

The Minnesota Leadership Council on Aging is hosting its annual summit on Dec. 13 and this year’s theme is Forward Progress for Aging Well in Minnesota. Registration for this full-day event is now open.

Bi-partisan legislative leaders, key committee chairs and Governor-elect Tim Walz have all been invited to attend and participate in the program. The Summit will feature four main discussions:

  • Community Responses to Aging that features successful and sustainable actions to help communities best prepare for their fast-growing aging population;
  • Bridging the Legislative Sessions: Interim Work on Older and Vulnerable Adult Protections;
  • Looking ahead to the 2019 Legislative Session that may include bi-partisan legislative leaders sharing their priorities on aging-related issues; and
  • Summarizing priorities for the 2019 session from nine groups, including AARP MN, Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota-North Dakota; Long-Term Care Imperative; Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota; Minnesota Association of Area Agencies on Aging; Minnesota Board on Aging; Minnesota Elder Justice Center; Minnesota Department of Human Services; and Volunteers of America MN-WI.

The Summit takes place from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the University of Minnesota Continuing Education Center in Saint Paul. LeadingAge Minnesota is sponsoring this event.
