Vista Prairie at Eagle Pointe – Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Senior Living Community in St. Francis

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, Vista Prairie hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for their newest development in St. Francis.

Set to open in late Fall 2025, this new 134-unit facility will bring much needed services to the community of St. Francis. Vista Prairie at Eagle Pointe will include independent living apartments, assisted living, memory care, and care suites.

Community Enthusiasm

St. Francis, a community of roughly 8,500 people, is excited to welcome a senior living setting to the city. With no existing senior care options in St. Francis, older adults looking for care – whether independent living, assisted living, or more advanced care – are forced to leave the community to find it. This negatively impacts residents of St. Francis, which is a tight knit community where many spend the majority, if not the entirety, of their lives. To be forced to leave one’s community to seek care as an older adult is a tragedy familiar to many rural communities in Minnesota.

That’s why there was a palpable sense of excitement and optimism at yesterday’s groundbreaking ceremony. Residents in attendance expressed that there’s a vital need for a senior living community in St. Francis, and Vista Prairie at Eagle Pointe will open at an opportune time.

Creating Home for Older Adults

Bettendorf also offered thanks to the city of St. Francis, as well as many funding partners, for helping to get the project to the development stage.
