2022 Leadership Academy Fellows Complete Year of Development and Growth

LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation Invests $400,000 in 24 Workforce Grants

Totaling $400,000, 24 workforce grants were awarded to LeadingAge Minnesota members across the state by the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation this week. The grant program funds staff appreciation, OnTrack Nursing Assistant Training program set-up expenses, and initiatives to improve recruitment, retention, and talent pipeline development.

Congressman Emmer Visits Guardian Angels With Members of MN Legislature

Last week, Congressman Tom Emmer joined Guardian Angels CEO Traci Larson, State Rep. Paul Novotny, and State Sen. Mary Kiffmeyer at Guardian Angels Care Center, a skilled nursing community in Elk River. LeadingAge Minnesota staff also attended the meeting.
Saint Therese Finalizes Land Purchase for a New Senior Community in Corcoran

Saint Therese, a LeadingAge Minnesota member organization, has finalized the purchase of nearly 13 acres of rolling terrain from the city of Corcoran for its senior living community, Saint Therese of Corcoran. The closing of the land purchase is the culmination of efforts spread across three years with the city and becomes both Saint Therese and Corcoran's kickoff to a new senior community and the city's progressive Town Center development, respectively.

Looking back at the past two years, we can all agree it hasn’t been easy. We faced a global pandemic head-on and continue to work together to address the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 and the severe workforce crisis plaguing our settings. But we also must look ahead. Minnesota is now home to one million seniors, and we are seeking new, innovative ways to serve all those who need care in our settings.
