CMP Funding Still Available for COVID-19 Technology Grants

Posted on June 23, 2020 by Julie Apold

Applications are still being accepted by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) from Medicaid-certified nursing facilities to receive up to $3,000 in Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) funds to purchase communication technology.

It is important to submit an application as soon as possible if you are interested in pursuing funds. Although there is not an established timeline for applying for the funding, CMS can revoke authorization of this use of CMP funds at any time.

The intent of this funding is to expand the capacity for residents to conduct “virtual” visits with family and friends and participate in telehealth visits through the purchase of tablets, iPads, and similar devices, as well as accessories.

Access the COVID-19 Technology grant application and the Minnesota-specific instructions.

On the page, go to “Initiatives,” then click to expand the link(+) entitled “Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) Initiatives“ to view the posting. The information is mid-page once you expand the link.
