Dementia Care Certificate Program Begins Next Week, Meets State Requirements for Training

Posted on May 19, 2020 by Heidi Simpson

Time is running out to register for the Dementia Care Certificate Program that begins next week.

Two webinars on May 28 and June 5 give an overview of Alzheimer’s Disease, early onset dementia and related forms of dementia. During these webinars, you will learn about the causes, symptoms and stages of each form of dementia and the warning signs that may indicate a need for intervention.

Find full details and register at the links below:

  • Module #1 Overview and Early Dementia (May 28)
  • Module #2 Related Dementia: What Aging Services Providers Need to Know (June 5)

This program meets Minnesota’s current mandatory dementia care training requirements for home care, housing with services/assisted living and nursing home staff in serving persons in memory care programs.

It is also designed to build a solid foundation of knowledge on which staff caring for persons with dementia can prepare for the new assisted living requirements when they go into effect.
