Engage at Every Age: Older Americans Month 2018

Posted on May 9, 2018 by Jodi Boyne

It’s Older Americans Month! Engage at Every Age, this year’s theme, emphasizes that every age is the right age to take part in activities that can enrich your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Now it’s your turn to engage!

Help promote Older Americans Month (OAM) using these tips and resources.

Ways to Engage on Social Media

Each week, LeadingAge will focus on a different issue area in our OAM posts and articles. Last week we focused on advocacy and this week our theme is wellness. Join us in the next three weeks on bringing attention to these key issues:

  • Week 3: Women’s Health
  • Week 4: Dementia Friendly Communities
  • Week 5: Long-Term Care

Whether you’re using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, engage your communities with OAM activities to help them take steps to engage with their health, the community, and the lives of others.

FACEBOOK, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM:

Like @LeadingAge and @ACLGov

Share and “like” OAM content on ours and other sites to help spread the word.

Add the hashtag #OAM18 to your posts/tweets so all campaign participants can see them.

Use these OAM info cards (check back each week for new images).
