Honoring the Board Trustee of the Year Stuart Henrickson

Posted on February 8, 2024 by Libbie Chapuran

LeadingAge Minnesota proudly recognizes Stuart Henrickson, a visionary leader and board member for Knute Nelson Corporation and Foundation in Alexandria, MN, as the esteemed recipient of the 2024 Board Trustee of the Year award.

The Board Trustee of the Year award, presented by LeadingAge Minnesota, celebrates volunteer board members in older adult services organizations who demonstrate exemplary leadership, service, and actions that enrich the lives of older persons and enhance their community.

About Stuart

With over two decades of dedicated service, Stuart Henrickson's visionary leadership has been instrumental in shaping the direction and impact of Knute Nelson Corporation and Foundation. Serving as Chair for both entities, his unwavering commitment to caring for older adults wherever they call home, coupled with his acute awareness of the challenges facing long-term care organizations, sets him apart as an exemplary leader.

Under Henrickson's leadership, Knute Nelson has experienced significant growth and diversification, expanding its reach from a single site serving 400 individuals to multiple locations with diverse services. Today, Knute Nelson serves over 9,500 people in 49 counties, offering a comprehensive range of services including home care, a wellness center, and a thriving Foundation.

Stuart Henrickson's impact extends beyond professional realms, as evidenced by his pivotal role in the development of the Grand Arbor senior lifestyle community. His commitment to providing quality living environments for older adults is exemplified by the fact that he and his wife, Evelyn, now call Grand Arbor home.

Honored at the Institute

The award ceremony took place at the LeadingAge Minnesota Institute & Expo, the state’s largest and most comprehensive aging services conference. This annual event brings together over 3,000 professionals from all aspects of older adult services to learn about new and innovative programs, share best practices, and network with peers.
