iQIES to Implement Inactive User Policy This Month
Posted on May 23, 2024 by Kari Everson
To comply with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) security policies, the internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES) is implementing their policy this month to deactivate user roles for inactive accounts. This measure will help ensure the safety and security of our system.
CMS will conduct Regular system audits will identify users who have not logged into the iQIES system for over 60 days. These users will receive an email notification prompting them to log in to maintain their iQIES user roles and account. If they fail to log in, their iQIES roles will be revoked, restricting their access to the system.
Even if your iQIES role access is revoked, your Health Care Quality Information Systems (HCQIS) Access Roles and Profile (HARP) credentials will remain active. Your HARP account information will not be affected and will be accessible once your iQIES user roles are restored. To regain access, simply log into iQIES and re-request your user roles.
To avoid the inconvenience of having your iQIES roles revoked and potential delays in re-requesting your roles, please ensure you log in to iQIES regularly.
If you have any questions, please contact the iQIES Service Center by email at iqies@cms.hhs.gov or by phone at 1-800-339-9313. Or to create a new support ticket, track an existing ticket, or recover your HARP password account, please use our CCSQ Support Central: Self-Service Portal.
