Dementia Care Certificate Program - Modules #3 and #4 Open for Registration
The final installment of the 2019 Dementia Care Certificate Program is now open for registration. Dr. John Brose, founder and director of Associated Clinic of Psychology in Minneapolis and his colleague Catherine Johnson will lead this two-day hands-on workshop on Person-Centered Care and Strategies to Avert Challenging Behaviors.
The workshop meets Minnesota’s current mandatory dementia care training requirements for home care agency staff, HWS/Assisted Living staff and care center staff.
The Dementia Care Certificate Program consists of two webinars and this two-day workshop.
- Module #1: Overview and Early Dementia (webinar) August 29
- Module #2: Related Dementia: What Aging Service Providers Need to Know (webinar) Sept. 4
- Modules #3-4: Person-Centered Care and Strategies to Avert Challenging Behaviors
- Session 1: Sept. 24-25 or Session 2: Oct. 22-23
Infection Preventionist Certificate Program is Sept. 4-5
Effectiveness and Core Components for Infection Preventionists in SNFs is a new, comprehensive training session for individuals who are responsible for the infection prevention and control program in care centers.
Phase 3 of the Requirements of Participation that take effect on Nov. 28 mandate that every care center have a designated Infection Preventionist with specialized training to implement, oversee and manage the infection prevention and control program for quality and regulatory compliance.
This certificate program and a subsequent webinar will give the knowledge and strategies to build a sustainable and robust program.
