LeadingAge Minnesota lost a valued colleague and dear friend with the passing of Dave Brenne. From his work at the Board of Social Ministry to his career with Wipfli, Dave used his deep financial expertise to help guide the communities he served, this Association and the field of older adult services. 

LeadingAge Minnesota recently recognized five members with Excellence in Practice awards. The Quality, Star Workplace and Community Collaboration awards recognize and showcase exceptional progress in long term services and supports, serving as a platform to share promising programs and new ideas to help advance and transform the way we serve older adults. 

Sue Voigt, an attorney and partner with Voigt Rodè and Boxeth, was recently honored by LeadingAge Minnesota with its Business Partner Impact Award.   

Some Health Support Specialists (HSS) say the highest honor of their career is to walk across the stage during the general session at Institute as they are recognized for completing their coursework, advancing their skills, and furthering their commitment to care for our aging population.

Jack Mouritsen, a volunteer with LB Homes in Fergus Falls, was recently honored by LeadingAge Minnesota with the Volunteer of the Year Award. 

Emily Timm, Director of Operations, Lifesprk, was recently honored by LeadingAge Minnesota with the Ray Johnson Leadership in Action Award. 

Ebenezer recently received a Stars Among Us Innovation Award from LeadingAge Minnesota for its virtual reality initiative that allows older adults to experience the world in ways they never thought possible. 

Rich Sachse, a resident and active volunteer at Trillium Woods in Plymouth, was recently honored by LeadingAge Minnesota with the Spirit of Aging Award. 

The Minnesota Legislature is scheduled to convene on Tuesday, Feb. 20, and aging services providers have a lot at stake. LeadingAge Minnesota hosted an interactive legislative session preview webinar for members in January. Members who were unable to join us can now access the webinar. 

Investing in the professional development of the aging services workforce is one of the signature areas of focus for the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation. The Foundation is excited to offer more than $32,000 in educational scholarships to eligible caregivers and other employees of LeadingAge Minnesota member organizations for 2018. 

LeadingAge is seeking input on your organization’s level of activity or interest in payment and service delivery reforms.
