New Dietary Safety Video Available

Are you interested in improving your mealtime safety practices but don't know where to start? LeadingAge Minnesota, as part of Safe Care, has developed a new video demonstrating two essential dietary safety practices – Pre-Meal Huddles and Dietary Safety Pauses.

These safety practices are simple to implement, take moments, and can prevent potentially serious safety events while giving staff the peace of mind that they are serving a safe plate that also honors the resident's meal preferences.

These two practices are part of Preventing Dietary Safety Events, a comprehensive set of recommendations and resources developed by the Safe Care Dietary Safety Advisory Group.

If you are interested in receiving Safe Care Champion communications, please email Julie Apold, Vice President, Quality & Performance Excellence. Julie can also help you if you are not currently a Safe Care Committed Organization and would like to explore joining this critical initiative.
