2017 Quality Indicators Posted to DHS Provider Portal

Care Center Health Inspection Ratings May Change Despite Five-Star “Freeze”

For a period of 12 months beginning in February 2018, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will not use deficiencies cited on surveys on or after Nov. 28, 2017 in calculating the health inspection rating for the Nursing Home Compare Five-Star Quality Rating System.

Important Change in CEU Tracking for Nursing Home Administrators

How nursing home administrators track continuing education from national providers is about to change. The National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) will be eliminating paper certificates of attendance and using an electronic database for all reporting of national continuing education. The change is effective April 1.
