District Leadership, Board Director Positions Open for Elections This October

LeadingAge Minnesota has district leadership opportunities for those interested in Association leadership opportunities. District Chair, Chair-Elect, and Secretary/Treasurer positions are open for election this October for the seven districts of LeadingAge Minnesota.

District Officers

District leadership is a high-impact, low-commitment role that helps support, shape, and guide the direction of your District and the Association as a whole.

Most district positions will be elected at the upcoming District Meetings in October. The following is a description of what each role entails:

  • The Chair attends all meetings and appoints any committees deemed necessary. In partnership with LeadingAge Minnesota staff, the Chair creates the agenda, convenes, and leads the district meetings.
  • The Chair-Elect is also responsible for coordinating special programs for District meetings and serves as a grassroots liaison with staff on district advocacy activities. In the absence of the Chair, the Chair-Elect performs their duties.
  • The Secretary/Treasurer is the liaison to LeadingAge Minnesota. This person approves all bills for the District and obtains a financial report from LeadingAge Minnesota to present at meetings of the District. If the Chair and Chair-Elect cannot attend the district meeting, the Secretary/Treasurer will lead the meeting.

District Board Director Open Positions

In addition to district officers, Districts A, D, and G will elect District Board Directors to serve three-year terms. Incumbents are running for second terms in Districts A and G.

The Details

Elections for the positions will take place at October District Meetings. District Officers elected will take office in October and complete a two-year term. District Board Directors will take office in January and complete a three-year term through 2025.

How to Apply

If you are interested in serving as a district leader and have questions about the roles or the election process, contact Luke Jenkins, Director of Membership. Luke would also be happy to take your recommendations for leaders who may be interested.

Our thanks go to all the individuals who have served their districts in the past.
