Care Centers: Submit Comments to CMS by June 10 to Impact SNF PPS Proposed Rule

Comments on the proposed Fiscal Year 2023 Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Prospective Payment System (PPS) rule are due to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by the end of the day Friday, June 10.

While the proposed rule seeks comments on several regulatory changes, a proposed payment cut and a request for information on minimum staffing standards are of particular concern.

LeadingAge Minnesota will submit a letter to CMS before the deadline. As part of our final steps this week, we are incorporating recent feedback from some of our member committees and working with LeadingAge national to ensure alignment between our responses.

In the meantime, in addition to comments by LeadingAge Minnesota, we encourage care center members to submit a comment to ensure CMS fully understands the impact its proposals will have on providers. We have drafted a template letter with instructions for submitting comments through the CMS online portal. The template letter is complete on its own, but we encourage you to customize it by adding data specific to your care center.

We appreciate your engagement and will share our final letter in Monday's Member Message.
